Second London Overground line lands for Train Sim World 5.

Another high-density, urban driving experience arrives complete with licensed TfL branding and vehicles.

Kent, U.K. 4 Mar. London’s calling yet again for Train Sim World 5 players, with the release of the Mildmay line as an Add-on by partner programme developer Incredible Trains.

Like the Suffragette line, which was released as an Add-on last year, the Mildmay line route features fully licensed TfL branding across the 12 miles of London depicted as well as a busy timetable, automated DLR trains, black cabs, red buses and iconic London landmarks and stations.

What is now recognisable as the Mildmay line was built across two decades of staggered development and expansion between 1846 and 1869. Avoiding central London, the route is vital for cross-city connections while avoiding the busy core and is also a vital freight artery as it links multiple main lines together.

Much like the rest of the London Overground network, the North London Line was due an upgrade through the 90s and early 2000s, and in 2007, TfL took over the line and overhauled it to be a modern commuter line with reliable and frequent service.

With TfL’s naming of all London Overground routes, the North London Line is now officially known as the Mildmay line, honouring the small charitable hospital in Shoreditch that has cared for Londoners over many years, notably its pivotal role in the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s, which made it the valued and respected place it is for many, particularly the LGBTQ+ community today.

In Train Sim World 5, this packed, dense and highly detailed route covers 12 miles of the Mildmay line between Stratford and Willesden Junction, via familiar names such as Hampstead Health, Highbury & Islington and Hackney Central. Also new to the game is the Class 378 ‘Capitalstar’ which first entered service in 2009 on London Overground routes.
