Today indie studio Exabyte Games announced a release date of 22nd May 2025 for their upcoming base-builder colony sim set in the zombie apocalypse, Final Outpost: Definitive Edition.

The trailer was also released on the GameTrailers YouTube channel and the IGN website.
The Definitive Edition is a new premium release with a replayable meta-progression, trading system, original soundtrack and much more. A host of new features including the ability to settle new Outposts, difficulty modes, game modifiers and a new building are highly anticipated by existing players, of which there are surely many as the original game amassed 1M+ downloads since its release in 2020.
Since its page went live on Steam on 4th August last year, Final Outpost: Definitive Edition has gained over 25,000 wishlists. YouTubers Splattercat, Orbital Potato, Wanderbots, Nookrium, Angory Tom and press outlets such as Gamespark, Gaming on Linux and PocketGamer have previously covered the game.
A free demo is available on Steam for players to get stuck into while they wait.
