From the Studio Behind Blue Archive, the Anime-Style Game Debuts Demo at NEXON Booth, Hall 7-C04
Seoul - August 24, 2026 - Today, NEXON, a global leader in online games, announced the official title of its upcoming anime-style game previously code named, Project RX, FAREIDOLIA. This upcoming game will debut its first playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026 from September 17 to 21 in the NEXON exhibit booth at Makuhari Messe.
A New World to Live In
Developed by IO division, the team behind Blue Archive, FAREIDOLIA is a new anime-style game built around an immersive story, interactions with a richly distinctive cast of characters and a variety of lifestyle content. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game delivers high-quality 3D graphics that bring its lively characters, everyday atmosphere and dynamic battles to life.
"FAREIDOLIA is set in Anima City, a world that resembles our own yet feels subtly different. We wanted to capture the story of discovering familiarity within that new world while forming bonds along the way, which led us to the title FAREIDOLIA," said Minseo Cha, Director of FAREIDOLIA. FAREIDOLIA takes place in “Anima City,” a town in a world very similar to Earth. Players serve as director of the Anima City Restoration Center, while simultaneously taking on the role as head of “Tasogare Hall,” the Restoration Center’s office. In these roles, players live alongside girls known as “Mates,” who possess unique abilities, while resolving the various problems that arise around the city.

Minieh is cheerful and laid-back, until adventure comes up. As an explorer living for the “ultimate adventure,” she stands as the most passionate and dependable companion in uncovering Anima City’s hidden secrets.

Ohana, although expressionless with a mysterious aura, is a self-proclaimed all-rounder genius. She shows extraordinary talent in whatever she does, but wastes that potential on mischief and fun.

Shami, a cat-eared girl who’s constantly broke. Prone to misfortune but undaunted, she pours her money into protective charms, yet never misses her favorite idol shows.

Elevator Girl is a mysterious character in charge of operating the elevator at Tasogare Hall.

First Hands-On at Tokyo Game Show 2026
Making its debut at Tokyo Game Show 2026, FAREIDOLIA will be in Makuhari Messe (Mihama Ward, Chiba City) at the NEXON booth located in Hall 7-C04. Attendees will find the FAREIDOLIA booth zone which faithfully recreates “Tasogare Hall”, the setting of the game, and encounter Minieh, Ohana, Shami and Elevator Girl waiting to welcome visitors. The booth will have the following engaging activations:

At the trial-play corner, players can become the first in the world to go hands-on with FAREIDOLIA before its release.

Attendees can also participate face to screen in the rock-paper-scissors challenge mini-game against their favorite character.
By visiting the booth or completing the demo or mini-game, attendees can earn event-exclusive rewards that include the following:
