4vs4 Team Sports Arena Battle “Tank Arena: Ultimate League” Launches on Meta Quest Store

STOIC, the First Korean VR Game Developer to Launch Multiple VR Titles

STOIC Entertainment, the VR developer behind Meta’s “World War Toons: Tank Arena VR” and the recently-launched the SteamVR title “Spectral Scream”, has launched its second VR game for the Meta Quest Store, Tank Arena: Ultimate League, on May 23, 2024.

Tank Arena: Ultimate League is a sport-themed 4vs4 arena team battle set in the near future, where players choose from multiple tanks of different roles (Vanguard, Assault and Support) and fight to capture the Pulse Tower in the center of each map. At the moment of launch, players will have access to a total of 8 tanks that have unique skills and stats such as area-of-effect blasts, healing, shields, etc., enabling teams to set up distinct tank compositions and tactics for victory.

The game also has strong emphasis on social features, with a robust Lounge system that provides a myriad of fun activities for players to enjoy and socialize, such as mini-games and perky gadgets (an ice gun to freeze others, for example) for simply hanging out with friends.

The My Room feature also gives each player a private ‘exhibition room’ where they can customize, exhibit and modify their tanks and skins/accessories that can be shown to other friends.
“More tanks, skins, items and features such as mini-games are scheduled to be added ASAP after launch,” said Hongseok Kim, co-CEO of STOIC. “But mainly, we hope to deliver contents that focus on novel improvements to gameplay and tactics that will actually enhance the meaning of the added features as well.”

STOIC has been the center of much attention in the Korean VR game scene, as it was the first-ever Korean developer to have its game launched and be featured on Meta Quest Store back in 2022. In addition, STOIC was highlighted by the VR community last February, when it was one of only five startups in Korea that were invited to individual closed-door meetings with Mark Zuckerberg during his visit to Korea.

Now, the launch of Tank Arena: Ultimate League is especially meaningful to STOIC, as it has now become the first Korean VR game developer to launch multiple VR titles across multiple platforms (World War Toons: Tank Arena and Tank Arena: Ultimate League on Meta Quest, and Spectral Scream for Steam PC/VR).

“The fact that our humble company has become the first VR developer in Korea to launch multiple titles in this fashion is a great honor for us,” said Yoonhwa Choi, co-CEO. “We hope to lead Korea and possibly the global game industry in creating more innovative, social and immersive XR contents with our accumulating skills and know-hows. Keep an eye out for more amazing titles from us!”
