2024 VALORANT Champions Wins Emmy for ‘Outstanding Esports Championship Coverage’ at 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards

Honor marks first Emmy win for VALORANT Esports!


Riot Games is proud to announce its sixth Sports Emmy® Award win and its first-ever victory for VALORANT Esports, recognizing outstanding achievement in live esports broadcasting.

 

At the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards held Tuesday evening in New York City, Riot Games was honored in the Outstanding Esports Championship Coverage category for its production of EDward Gaming’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Team Heretics in the 2024 VALORANT Champions Grand Final. 

 

It’s the third straight year Riot’s two global esports championships – the League of Legends World Championship Final and VALORANT Champions – have received nominations for their broadcast productions in the Outstanding Esports Championship Coverage category by the National Academy of the Television Arts & Sciences with Worlds previously winning four times. 

 

Prior to 2020, Riot earned its first Sports Emmy honor in 2018 in the Live Graphic Design category.

 

The 2024 VALORANT Champions Grand Final from Seoul, South Korea was the most successful VCT event to date, reaching 9.13M peak viewers and 44.38M unique viewers during Grand Finals.
