STOCKHOLM, 16 October 2026. Every day of Steam Next Fest has its own companion in the Scape demo, and once that day ends, it never drops again. Every companion found is tradable on the Steam Market once you own Scape and the holder’s Steam account qualifies.
- Monday 19 October: Cutesy Globe
- Tuesday 20 October: Sneaky Hexa
- Wednesday 21 October: Dissolving Diamond
- Thursday 22 October: Devil Globe
- Friday 23 October: Wicked Diamond
- Saturday 24 October: Boiling Drop
- Sunday 25 October: Trapped Hexa
- Monday 26 October: Curious Drop
Each find rolls one of five tiers and one of thirty colours, from the twelve base colours to Total Eclipse at one in ten thousand. The full odds are in the press kit, published before the fest and fixed after release. Finishing the demo adds the title Next Fest Hero, and joining the Scape Discord adds a companion of its own.
Items appear along the demo’s climb, and the higher a player climbs, the more they find. Every eight hours, ten new items appear for each player and any still unfound disappear, so players who keep coming back keep finding more. A counter on screen shows how many of the ten a player has found, and a timer shows how long until the next reset. Every item a player sees is theirs alone, so nobody races anyone for one.
Almost no Next Fest demo runs Twitch Drops. Scape does, with a different companion dropping to viewers every day of the fest, eight in all, and none of them ever returns. Thirty minutes of any Scape stream with Twitch Drops on, with a linked Twitch account, gives that day’s companion; an hour adds the Flex emote and ninety minutes the title Came for the Clip, once per viewer. Twitch Drops are account-bound, and account-bound items never trade. Streamers in the Scape creator program also hand out the Corrupted Heart to their audience every day.
The fest is where Early Access starts. Everything found or collected during the week is delivered in Scape at Early Access launch on 28 October, and a second Drops campaign with its own companions begins that day. The Next Fest set never returns.
The fest opens Monday 19 October at 10:00 PT, 17:00 UTC, 01:00 SGT on the 20th, and each day turns at 00:00 PT, 07:00 UTC, 15:00 SGT. An hour after the fest opens, Scape hosts a community game night in the demo, open to anyone through the Scape Discord: Monday 19 October at 11:00 PT, 18:00 UTC, 02:00 SGT on the 20th. Two new trailers are out: the Scape | Official Cinematic Trailer (https://youtu.be/JK8vcl59UJs) and the Scape | Official Gameplay Trailer (https://youtu.be/qrJVenm6gBs).
Scape is built to hold more than one game, from a studio of about thirty people in Sweden. Gravity is the first: up to 100 players share the same climb, and every climber you see is a real person.
A fall still costs height, but other climbers can stop it. Gravity lets you save players: when someone falls past you, a prompt appears for both of you. Hold it for a second each, and the fall stops beneath them and carries them sideways to the wall at that height. Nobody is pulled back up, nothing ties you together afterwards, and anyone level with you or above can save you, a friend or a stranger on the far side of the mountain. The saver’s name goes on the climb bar for everyone to see. Hold the prompt mid-jump and you may not land your own; that is the price of reaching.
Most later games on the platform launch free, and anyone who buys Early Access has them.
“Every day of Next Fest has its own companion, and once the day is over, nobody finds it again. We want people’s time to matter, and whether you join every day or only once, you are rewarded for it,” said Bastian Geissler, Founder and Creative Director.
Bastian Geissler is available for interviews.
