Solo developer studio Siscia Games is proud to announce that Pompeii: The Legacy, a narrative-driven city-building game set in ancient Rome, will launch in Early Access on Steam on September 16, 2025. The game blends classic city management mechanics with a generational story of a Roman family rebuilding their legacy under the looming shadow of Mount Vesuvius.
Set in the aftermath of the infamous eruption, Pompeii: The Legacy invites players to return to the ruins of the city and shape its future across decades. Every decision, political, architectural, or personal, echoes through the generations. Balancing the needs of plebeians, patricians, and slaves, players must navigate a complex web of trade, research, societal expectations, and looming threats.
But Pompeii: The Legacy isn’t just about managing resources. It’s about rebuilding identity. Bringing Roman architecture to life alongside systems of governance and family progression, the game invites players to shape the soul of a city reborn. Developed by a solo indie developer from Croatia, the game has been in the works for over two years and runs on a custom-built engine.
To celebrate the announcement, a new public demo will be available from July 24 to August 3. Players will be able to experience the game’s opening chapter, experiment with its core mechanics, and begin their family's journey toward restoring Pompeii to greatness. The Early Access version launching in September will introduce three distinct game modes: the full narrative campaign, a classic sandbox experience, and a creative mode for building without restrictions or penalties.
