Apogee Entertainment and solo developer Strollart have officially launched the “Kingdom 'o Quests” update for the extraction roguelike, Below the Stone. Featuring new quests, characters, weapons, locations, and more, Below the Stone’s latest update is centered around fleshing out its Kingdom NPCs and their various duties as loyal townsfolk, and plunging deeper into the depths. Be sure to check out the Bar, where players can take on quests from the new Craftmaster, plus a range of other NPCs.
Below the Stone is a punishing extraction roguelike in which dwarves go on missions and quests through the deepest depths in search of rare treasures. Each descent leads to a new adventure, and only the most determined dwarves with many lost lives will be rewarded by the hidden world lying below the stone. Every level deeper, more dangerous biomes lie, yet there are also greater rewards to mine and uncover.
New Updates Coming to Below the Stone:
-
The Bar!: After helping the owner repair the bar to get it ready for customers again, this lively and atmospheric place will keep players in the loop for everything happening around the kingdom. It will house new NPCs with various colorful personalities and stories to tell, including those who may offer players new quests!
-
Take Aim: A new series of six ranged weapons have been added to the game, including
-
The Craftmaster: Introducing the Craftmaster, a tireless maker of various wonderful gadgets and contraptions. She supplies her fellow dwarves with many useful gadgets that other professions in the kingdom simply can't.

New Quests: The player can now accept and complete quests from various NPCs and log their progress in their journals. Some of these quests are relevant to the story, and others unlock things in the Kingdom. Some will even serve similarly to a tutorial, in that they help introduce the player to important aspects of the game.
- An Improved Crafting UI: Various nuanced improvements to the base crafting UI that all NPCs use, such as snappier animations, sizing and positioning changes, and proper scaling of certain UI elements based on window resolution.
