etermax: a year of great transformations

Milestones accomplished by the tech company include establishing a new corporate identity, surpassing its historical record of hires, adding new offices and becoming the company with the most mobile games launches in 2020 in the American continent and Spain

Buenos Aires, December 15, 2020.- etermax, the international technology company that created global hits such as Trivia Crack and Word Crack, provides a Year in Review of 2020, a year full of challenges that allowed it to achieve great transformations. With a new visual identity that reflects its corporate growth and new records in hiring and expansion, etermax raises the bar for 2021. The company closed the year with the most mobile game launches in the Americas and Spain and with successes in its In-Game advertising and Artificial Intelligence business units.

Gaming, a key to success
According to specialists, the video game market is expected to grow 9% this year, reaching a revenue of USD 160 billion. The mobile segment will reach a value of USD 72 billion and will grow +13% per year until 2023. Aligned with these predictions, etermax’s Gaming unit experienced a growth of up to 120% in daily active users, a 25% increase above the original forecast.

Since 2009, etermax's games division has been developing global casual mobile games, such as Trivia Crack and Word Crack, that entertain, build communities and foster knowledge.

During 2019, the etermax Gaming division worked to streamline development processes and created Genesis, a specific area for the assembly of prototypes. As a result of this strategic business decision, the etermax Gaming unit exceeded its ambitious launch schedule in 2020, becoming the
number one company in mobile games presented in 2020 in the American continent and in Spain with 8 new proposals this year: Word Crack Mix 2, Words & Ladders, Word Crack 2, Word Show, Topic Twister, Trivia Cars, Triviatopia Run and Trivia Crack Adventure. In addition, the etermax Gaming division exceeded 800 million downloads worldwide, with more than 150 million annual active users in more than 180 countries.

From powerful businesses to valuable brands: a new corporate identity
Although already established worldwide in the gaming industry, etermax evolved in 2020 as a global technology company, which also develops the potential of advertising in the world of video games with flame by etermax and artificial intelligence applied to business with etermax AI Labs. After 10 years of experience, this growth was represented in a new brand presentation and visual identity system to accompany its growth and global corporate positioning.

More talent, more game changers
Despite the context of the global health crisis, etermax did not stop its growth projection and made various expansion announcements: a new office in Mendoza, the acquisition of Performash to strengthen the AdTech area, and a new Data division that consolidated its area of Business Intelligence. As a result, etermax was able to reach and surpass its historical record of new hires. Today, the more than 170 professionals hired in the year are part of more than 450 programmers, designers, illustrators, animators, sound engineers, data scientists, marketing specialists, among other disciplines, who make up multidisciplinary and dynamic teams that combine technology and creativity to break industry molds.

With the
opening of its third office in Argentina in the city of Mendoza,  etermax closes the year with five locations worldwide in addition to demonstrating constant growth in Montevideo and Berlin, as well as commercial support in São Paulo and Mexico City.

Considering that 74% of the advertising in apps is dedicated to games and capitalizing on its knowledge in the matter,
etermax strengthened its AdTech team during 2020 to continue developing innovative technology for buying and selling digital advertising spaces automatically, dynamically and efficiently. In addition, the company acquired Performash, not only to further develop the industry's potential but also to boost its development and growth in Latin America.

On the other hand, recognizing the value of data as an asset and its importance for making business decisions, the company elevated its Data Analytics area to Management level by appointing a new Chief Data Officer. With this decision, the company seeks to continue strengthening the products of its business units based on the analysis of various variables in the behavior of users, brands and the products it offers.


In-game advertising on the rise
In a year where videogames were established as a great ally for people to stay entertained and connected despite the distance, the flame by etermax team, based in Buenos Aires and with support in São Paulo and Mexico City, doubled the number of advertisers that connect with the gaming value audience, representing more than 1,800 own and third-party titles and working with more than 230 brands in 16 countries.
