October 13, 2026 – Laguna Hills, California – Black Hand has revealed a new gameplay system for The Dark West with the release of the "Liquid Courage” trailer. The trailer introduces the Alcohol System and the newly opened Saloon, where players can stock up on drinks before heading back out into the frontier. This new system, along with other additions, will be featured in an updated version of the demo available during Steam Next Fest.
In The Dark West, a bottle can be as useful as a loaded revolver. Alcohol can be equipped and consumed for temporary combat effects, giving players another way to tilt a fight in their favor. Whiskey increases damage, Tequila boosts attack speed, and Moonshine increases movement speed, while other drinks improve critical strikes, resistances, or ward regeneration.
Of course, there is a catch. The effects of intoxication start to set in as you drink, and things can get messy from there. A well-timed drink might be exactly what you need when a fight starts going south. Keep going back to the bottle, though, and even moving in the right direction can become a problem.
Out on the frontier, there are some problems a bullet can't solve. Sometimes you just need a little liquid courage.
