Zurich, Switzerland, July 18th, 2022 – gamescom returns as an in-person event for 2022 and SwissGames is proud to bring 18 Swiss game studios to Cologne to present their upcoming titles. Initiated by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, SwissGames promotes Swiss game developers at home and abroad. For everyone involved, gamescom is the absolute highlight of 2022.

The 18 Swiss games presented this year include titles like The Wandering Village by Stray Fawn Studio, Kandria by Shirakumo Games, Grimoire Groves by Stardust and Pocket Oasis by knit'n'purl. The latter two have already won Best in Play Awards at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2022.
The Wandering Village is a city-building simulation game set in a world in which toxic spores have contaminated the planet. For that reason, a small group of people seek refuge on the back of a giant wandering creature. As their leader, the player builds the settlement and forms a symbiotic relationship with the wandering creature to survive together in this dangerous, yet beautiful world.
Kandria is a 2D sidescrolling hack & slash set in a ruined open world of caverns, settlements, and puzzle-platform challenges. Players fight their way through missions, patrol borders, repair machines, scavenge supplies. Or... just sit back and fish for a while, take in the atmosphere, and trade their riches.
Grimoire Groves is a violence-free roguelite adventure in which players team up with various witches to collect plants in the forest. These are then used to brew potions, create spells and create new outfits.
Pocket Oasis is a relaxing gardening game in a hand-painted graphic style that stands out from other games with its relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. In different cities around the globe, players have to decorate their own balconies with different plants. In the process, they watch their seedlings grow and blossom and harvest their fruits. Amateur gardeners can create their own little pocket oasis by choosing from a wide variety of plants.

In addition to the aforementioned studios, the indie developer Okomotive will also be represented at the trade fair as part of the Swiss delegation.
Those who want to experience the games on site and meet the developers will find the SwissGames booth in Hall 4.1, booth B021/C-030, in the gamescom Business Area. On Wednesday, August 24th, from 9am to 11am CEST, SwissGames will host a Business Breakfast. Please register via swissgames@prohelvetia.ch. For networking opportunities you are welcome to join our SwissGames Events in the afternoon, from 3pm to 5pm CEST (no RSVP is necessary): Swiss Drinks (Wednesday, August 24th) and Happy Hour (Thursday, August 25th).
