BORDEAUX, France – April 16, 2026 – Shiro Unlimited and developer Funday Games have revealed Northgard Battlegrounds at the Galaxies Gaming Showcase. The city-building auto-battler, set in the Viking world of Northgard, is headed to PC via Steam later in 2026.
In Northgard Battlegrounds, the world has been shattered by Ragnarok. As a Warchief, players must rebuild their settlement in a harsh land while seeking the favor of the Gods to outlast rival clans.
Northgard Battlegrounds combines the fast-paced mechanics of auto-battlers with the base-building systems of Northgard. At the start of the run, players choose a clan with its own strategic identity. Each turn, they expand their settlement by placing buildings, managing resources, strengthening their warband, and unlocking powerful synergies. Krowns fund development of the village, while Lore spent to pledge allegiance to Norse Gods allows to unleash their abilities on the battlefield.
When the building phase ends, clans clash in the battle, and every decision made during the turn directly impacts the outcome. Each run introduces new combinations and strategic options, pushing players toward the ultimate goal: emerging as the last clan standing.
