Ready or Not Launches Free Mission Editor Feature Available Today

Expansive Ready or Not update featuring Mission Editor revealed during the FPS Game Show

LOS ANGELES/CORK, IRELAND – September 3, 2026 – VOID Interactive, the creators of the strategic tactical shooter game Ready or Not, announced during the FPS Game Show a free update available Today featuring the new game mode: Mission Editor.

Check out the Mission Editor Overview Trailer that debuted on the FPS Games Show here:

Mission Editor allows players to go “behind the scenes" for comprehensive tweaking of gameplay variables within a mission, with a particular focus on customizing non-playable character. Players have access to modify every game level available in the main game and subsequent content (DLC) releases*. Customizations will focus on tailoring the suspects, civilian, and SWAT specific modifiers for their behaviour, health, appearance, armaments, and more.

SWAT AI Modifiers

SWAT AI modifiers focus on modifying the combat effectiveness of SWAT NPC officers. These modifiers include SWAT visual stimulus reaction time, Morale Damage by SWAT Activity, and Morale Damage by SWAT Activity Multiplier. The SWAT activities that cause morale damage include yelling for compliance, kicking in doors, firing weapons, throwing grenades, visible presence of SWAT characters, etc.

Civilian AI Modifiers

Civilians have many of the same modifiers that Suspect AI have, however without the emphasis on combat. These modifiers allow changes to how compliant civilians are in addition to their civilian archetype

This can be used as a quality-of-life measure for players who want runs with less civilians to restrain, or to emulate hostage-type scenarios.

Player Modifiers
The amount of player health can be modified, as can the max number of bandages. With this setup, players can choose to enhance how hardcore a given mission is. With only 50hp, any shot that defeats armor could be immediately lethal to a player. With only one bandage, players only have one opportunity to stem a bleeding wound.

Miscellaneous Modifiers

A select number of miscellaneous mission-related modifiers can be changed too, which affects how the mission presents itself or how much complexity is offered.

The length of bomb timers in a mission, multi-selectable door trap types, enabling/disabling default character spawns, max locked doors percentage, max open door percentage, and chance of suspect suicide can be modified.

Mission Editor affords increased replayability and unique gameplay situations through the modification suite. From swapping appearance of suspects of one level with another, giving all suspects knives or M249s, to tweaking the behavior of civilians, or giving players only 10hp, there are countless new ways to engage with missions.

The scenario edits that players setup can be saved and shared with friends or throughout the community via code generation regardless of which platform they play from.

*All base game + DLC levels are available with Mission Editor, but DLC ownership required to set up editable DLC missions.
