Japanese-Inspired Action RPG Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade Launches Worldwide on May 14

New Gameplay Trailer and Premiere Anime Short Revealed

Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade, a Japanese-style action RPG developed by Taiwanese indie studio 7QUARK and published globally by Game Source Entertainment, is set to launch worldwide on May 14 at 9:00 PM (PST). The game will be available simultaneously on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

 

 

Alongside the release date announcement, the developers have unveiled a brand-new gameplay trailer, showcasing the final build’s combat system and story elements.

An official anime short film, produced by Bandai Namco Pictures, is also set to premiere on YouTube at the same time as the game's launch.

Set in an alternate Edo-period Japan, Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade blends roguelite mechanics with classic RPG elements. The story begins as a fragile peace between humans and demons is shattered when the powerful Nine-tailed Fox launches an all-out assault, plunging the world into chaos.

 

Players will take on the roles of three unique protagonists:

・Shigure (voiced by Yoko Hikasa), an immortal ninja
・Sara (voiced by Ayana Taketatsu), an Oni emissary
・Taketora (voiced by Rikiya Koyama), a demon samurai

Each character wields distinct weaponry—from mystical demon blades and dual blades to traditional Japanese bows—as they battle through deadly encounters in a world governed by relentless reincarnation.

 

To build anticipation, the developers have also launched a 14-day countdown event across official social channels. Each day features exclusive illustrations created by renowned artists, including Hagiya Kaoru and Youka, giving fans a sneak peek into the game’s aesthetic and lore.
