TWIN DRUMS RELEASES FIRST NDA-FREE ALPHA OF AFRICAN INSPIRED MMO: THE WAGADU CHRONICLES

Berlin March 31th 2023 – Started by a black developer after his struggles to getting seen in the games he worked on, Twin Drums, the Germany based multimedia company focused on bringing African science fiction and fantasy into the mainstream announces the first NDA-free access to their flagship title: The Wagadu Chronicles.

The Wagadu Chronicles is an online world in which players from all over the globe can create magical characters inspired by African mythologies. Wagadu offers players the ability to gather, hunt, farm and trade as they build villages with their allies. At the same time, magical Spirits and powerful Ancestors vie for players’ loyalty, leading to combat and territorial claims across this ever-changing world. The Wagadu Chronicles can be both a peaceful life-skills MMO as well as guild-versus-guild competitive space, depending on players’ choices.

Having a successful reception from MMO players and role play lovers on social media, Twin Drums held two testing phases where they added major changes and new systems. With Alpha-3 set to start on March 13th, Twin Drums now reveals some information about what new features players can look forward to and leaving applications open.

Alpha-3 updates

For the first time, The Wagadu Chronicles has all the basic elements of a full loop.
In the past months, the team mainly focused on offering new features such as a tutorial system to help new players understand the basic features of the game through the quests system. Players can look forward to playing the game and attending specific events such as Fashion Shows where character customization is highlighted, group hunts or even races awarding the first arrived.

About Twin Drums
Twin Drums is the brainchild of Allan Cudicio, a Ghanaian-Italian currently based between Berlin and Accra. A decade ago, after working in B2B software at Oracle, he decided to switch to the gaming industry after perceiving its potential for growth. He worked at various gaming firms, including the billion dollar franchise “Candy Crush”, before deciding to start his own company in order to best capitalize on the growth of software-as-a-service gaming and African-inspired media – such as the cinematic success “Black Panther.”

The Twin Drums team today is uniquely diverse in game development and media: we are a Black-led and proudly female majority company, which is a rarity in the current landscape. As global audiences diversify, this is a major strength and we are uniquely placed to both connect with and make products for future consumers. Additionally, Twin Drums has a blend of mobile, PC and other media expertise, which gives the company an edge in the current multiplatform landscape.
