Street Basketball Competitive PC Game "FREE DUNK" Launches First Beta Test TODAY

April 18, 2025, 10:00 (UTC) – The street basketball competitive PC game FREE DUNK, developed by AlleysField, has officially begun its first technical beta test. This round of testing will last for 7 days, and players can still apply for limited beta access through official website registration or by participating in social media activities.

The developers openly stated that the current beta version is not the final product and has yet to reach full maturity. Therefore, they aim to use this testing phase to engage in candid and in-depth communication with players, promptly identifying and resolving existing issues in the current build. This "develop-and-adjust" approach demonstrates a pragmatic mindset, highlighting the team's commitment to product quality and player experience.

To them, basketball is more than just a game—it embodies passion and dreams, symbolizes a unique culture, and even represents an unwavering belief. AlleysField envisions the full release of FREE DUNK evolving into an online haven for all basketball gaming enthusiasts. Here, freedom, inclusivity, limitless possibilities, and defiance of labels will form the core theme. To turn this vision into reality, the developers invite every basketball-loving player to join the "Game Co-Creation Program." Together, they can carve out their own space in the worlds of both basketball and gaming—and make their dreams come true.

First Glimpse of PVE and PVP Gameplay with 22 Playable Characters

In FREE DUNK's design framework, both PVE and PVP modules are regarded as core elements that jointly shape the game's ecosystem. This test version will debut related content for the first time, allowing players to get an initial taste of its gameplay concept:

PVE mode focused on skill development and player progression, this mode includes: "Arcade Mode",  "Training Center". Arcade Mode: Master advanced techniques through skill challenges while developing your custom player from rookie to legend via attribute training, signature move unlocks, and potential upgrades.

PVP MODE designed for competitive players, the initial test features: "Quick Match" "Custom Game". Quick Match: Jump into instant 3v3 matchmaking for fast-paced streetball action. For players who prefer to take charge of the game and relish the thrill of controlling the court, the "Captain Mode" offers the perfect opportunity. In this mode, you'll team up with AI companions and lead your squad to victory through strategic decision-making and skillful execution.

The game also features a "Custom Match" mode where players can create their own rooms with fully customizable elements including court selection, match duration, and gameplay rules. Players may then invite friends to join or compete against AI opponents. Developers envision this mode as the foundation for the game's future esports ecosystem. Through continuous system refinements and iterative updates, players will eventually be able to design distinctive tournaments and establish unique competitive frameworks entirely shaped by the player community.

The beta test will feature 22 playable characters covering all five basketball positions, with some signature moves inspired by real-world basketball techniques - including "tomahawk dunks," "step-back 3pt," and "Post-up spin jump shot." These designs will undergo player testing during the beta period, providing valuable data to help the development team evaluate character performance and game balance.
