Revealed during today’s Upload VR Summer Showcase, Sky Runner: Drone Hero will officially launch July 31, 2025, exclusively on Meta Quest. Developed by RudyAA and Flat2VR Studios and published by Impact Inked, the stand-out mixed reality experience returns in a totally reimagined form, rebuilt from the ground up with new content, expanded mechanics, and more ways to play than ever before.
Sky Runner: Drone Hero is no mixed reality tech demo, and it’s not a passive drone sim. Pilots use intuitive flight mechanics and weapon controls to zig-zag between traps, suppress missile launchers, and carry out search-and-rescue operations with grappling hooks and FPV precision. Each mission challenges you to adapt to new threats, unlock new drone skins, and outfly enemies, all while navigating your real-world room transformed into a tactical playspace.
Built on the foundation of the cult favorite Bomber Drone, this new incarnation levels up every part of the experience, retaining the original’s creative spirit while delivering a bigger, bolder, and more polished adventure. Players control futuristic RC drones in a fully mapped mixed reality environment, flying through their own rooms to rescue civilians, dodge homing missiles, battle aliens, and drop bombs on undead hordes. With support for multiplayer, a full single-player campaign, and an in-game level editor, Sky Runner invites players to not just beat the game, but build their own courses as well.
