Sheffield, United Kingdom - November 20th, 2024 - After months of dropping hints as subtle as a block of clay, indie studio Claymatic Games is thrilled to officially announce that Platypus Reclayed, a full remake of the beloved 2002 claymation shoot ‘em up Platypus, is set to launch in 2025 on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
Developed under the creative direction of the original creator, New Zealand based Anthony Flack, Platypus Reclayed is a full sculpting of the original. Painstakingly remodelled, reprogrammed and updated for the modern age, the game features brand new artwork in 4k widescreen, updated gameplay, new ships, new weapons and additional content, promising to deliver an exhilarating and nostalgic experience for both longtime fans and new players alike.

Anthony Flack says “Platypus was the first published game I worked on. Ever since it was released and had a great response, there have been things about it that I have wanted to improve. It was originally made under fairly strained circumstances and I never had an opportunity to revise anything later. It wasn't even really playtested!
As the years have gone by, it has been a constant source of astonishment to me that the game would be remembered at all, let alone so fondly. But people would often tell me so, and our Discord community especially have made it clear that the love for my little game is still going strong over 20 years later. It is a rare privilege to create something that connects with people like that, and I'm very happy to be able to finally repay their attention with this all new, best-ever version of the game.”
