Doctor Shinobi Reveals "Dead Watch" – A murder mystery time-loop where finding a body sends you to the past

Los Angeles, CA – June 7, 2025 – Dead Watch, a murder mystery game where time resets when you find a dead body, was officially revealed today at FGS Live From Los Angeles. The game is currently in development by Doctor Shinobi, the developer behind Outcore: Desktop Adventure. Dead Watch will feature Outcore’s beloved protagonist, Lumi, as one of the characters in the game.

Each reset erases your progress, but your character remembers everything. With every cycle, you gain new knowledge, unlocking new paths of exploration and dialogue routes with characters you meet.

To find the exit, you’ll need to explore the castle’s hidden rooms, solve puzzles, and learn the lore behind the castle’s past.

Key Features
  • The power to change the future - The future was designed to make you lose, but you have the power to remember past loops. Use your knowledge to alter the timeline to achieve a different future.

  • Timeline simulation - Each character has its own schedule during the loop. As you explore the castle, characters may move between rooms and do certain things depending on the time. Your actions will affect their schedule.

  • Deranged cast of characters - You’re not alone in this creepy castle. Meet a bunch of freaks such as

    • A girl who thinks she’s “an internet explorer”.

    • 5-year-old conveniently interchangeable twins(?) who are the living embodiments of Capitalism & Communism.

    • A magical girl's mascot, which was designed in a lab to sell merch.

  • No hand-holding - The game respects your intelligence and expects you to piece the clues together on your own. There’s no tutorial fairy to solve your puzzles, and no intrusive UI. Even timekeeping is diegetic, tracked only by the towering clock in the grand hall. Every breakthrough is earned, making each discovery feel truly rewarding.

Dead Watch is being developed by Doctor Shinobi and will be released in 2026.
