Solo developer Birdtek Games is bringing chaotic retail carnage to Steam, Xbox, and Atari VCS on August 19th, 2025 with Checkout Blitz: The Shopping Dead, a fast-paced arcade roguelike where players race to complete shopping lists while battling hordes of zombies.
In single-player, co-op, or versus mode, players dash through procedurally generated store layouts, punching zombies, grabbing items, and racking up cash before time runs out. With a retro-vector art style, ridiculous boss fights, and a shopper progression system, every run delivers fresh chaos and laughs.
“It’s like a classic arcade game collided with a supermarket during the zombie apocalypse,” says developer Kevin Barnes.
