Horizontal Entertainment, a brand of TagWizz, the number one full stack video game company in Mexico, is announcing the most ambitious Latin American video game to date: Witches of the New World, an action/adventure that takes gamers into the heart of New England, in the aftermath of the infamous Salem Witch Trials. With its unorthodox combination of survival horror tone and Souls-like combat, this will be one of the first AA+ video games of this scope developed in Latin America.
“We believe this video game brings something new to the table,” William James, the project’s director, said. “Developed in Unreal Engine 5, Witches of the New World will introduce players into a time and place rarely explored in the industry: 17th century Anglo American colonies, and their inner conflicts.”
Up to this point, Latin America has been an ever growing market for video games, but it has the potential to also become a development powerhouse, not unlike what happened in Poland and Romania decades ago. “With Witches of the New World, we aim at showcasing not only TagWizz’ advanced skills in video game development, but also to position Latin America as a top-notch digital entertainment region,” said Adrian Gimate-Welsh, TagWizz’ CEO.
Witches of the New World will be a third person sword fighting souls-like action/adventure game, with acrobatic mechanics and a wide library of nightmarish creatures to put players on edge, planned to be released in 2025.
