Krakow, Poland – 20 August 2020. Digital Dragons today announced more key speakers for 2020’s all-digital conference from Krakow Technology Park, running from 15 to 18 September 2020.
This year’s Digital Dragons will be the 9th edition of the conference organised by Kraków Technology Park. 2020’s notable speakers include Darkest Dungeon creator Chris Bourassa, Borderlands creator Randy Varnell, Hivemind’s Amanda Kruse, and Remedy Games.
Today, Digital Dragons announce composers Gary Schyman (Bioshock, Shadow of Mordor, Guild Wars 2) and Austin Wintory (Journey, The Banner Saga, John Wick Hex) will join the speaker lineup for 2020.
Garry Schuman’s music for the BioShock series has received numerous nominations and awards. At Digital Dragons 2020, he will discuss the art and craft of composing a music score for games.
Austin Wintory is renowned for his Journey score, which won him a BAFTA among other awards and nominations. He will host a lecture about various interactive music systems.
“In creating this year's Digital Dragons program we tried to invite speakers from large studios creating AAA games on the one hand, and on the other hand to provide knowledge useful for smaller indie devs,” said Maciej Śliwiński, Digital Dragons Programme Coordinator. “The program also includes talks and panels related to the pandemic and its impact on the games industry – especially interesting are the discussion panels related to investments and marketing of games in the COVID-19 era.”
To address some of the challenges facing developers in 2020, Sega’s Bobby Wertheim will host a panel titled “Securing investment during a world in Lockdown” with Fernando Rizo (Middle Wolf), Mitsuo Hirakawa (Irregular Corporation) and Ryan Donaldson (Studio Capital Management).
Though Digital Dragons 2020 has moved online, it will be filled with fascinating talks and discussion panels conducted by gaming industry luminaries and professionals from all around the world. Talks will take place in two sessions – morning and evening, to be accessible across multiple timezones, and there will be an open discussion panel after each session.
