REMORE: INFESTED KINGDOM Releases Its First Major Update Following Early Access Launch

South Korea – June 24, 2025 – WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of PC and mobile games, announced today the release of the first major update for its hardcore tactical RPG, REMORE: INFESTED KINGDOM.
 
This update marks a significant leap in unifying narrative and gameplay, centered around the core theme of Overcoming Darkness through Human Will. While the Early Access version introduced key elements to showcase the game’s story, the developers at Black Anchor have now made substantial advancements to ensure that both game systems and narrative progression evolve in tandem.
 
Central to this integration is the Memolith, the foundation of the REMORE universe, serving as the origin of both the apocalyptic disaster and the means of resistance. This concept grounds REMORE as a place where the strength of human will is not only thematic but also spontaneous, directly affecting progression, exploration, and game mechanics.
 
Key systems have been restructured around this thematic focus. The Restoration Level, a newly introduced mechanic, reflects the player’s progress in reclaiming and rebuilding the shattered Memolith. As the Memory shards are recovered and Guiding Pillars are lit, the Restoration Level increases, unlocking new functions and strengthening the expedition team.
 
Similarly, expedition flow has shifted from linear stages to an open-ended structure, unlocking more than 10 more new maps in the Pleasure District and allowing players to journey with freedom.
 
The Hideout, once a simple refuge, now functions as the operational heart of the game. It serves as a site for rebuilding the Memolith, enhancing capabilities, and managing expeditions through newly designed systems such as Memory Binding and Blacksmithing. All features have been streamlined to support the narrative of restoring light and will to a collapsing world.
 
Another major highlight of this update is the introduction of the first giant boss, Olivia, in the depths of the Pleasure District. The battle with Olivia introduces two new game mechanics that encourage multi-layered encounters, intensifying battle complexity.
 
Two new playable characters now join the survival journey: the fearsome Inquisitor Becket and the mysterious Shadow Sister Mienne. Becket is a close-range formation-busting fighter with Fortitude as a primary ability that can chain impact and pain damage to enemies on the front line. Mienne, on the other hand, is a close-range assassin who uses Speed as her primary ability and specializes in ambushing.
 
Alongside these updates, a brand-new tutorial and player guide have been added to help players understand and optimize the gameplay approach. Players will also notice an improvement in UI/UX along with many other refinements to ensure the best game experience.
