Pixel Game Maker MV Deploys Nintendo Switch Publishing Through Gotcha Gotcha Games Inc.

Pixel Game Maker MV Game Development Contest 2020 has Already Started!

TOKYO – Nov. 9, 2020Pixel Game Maker MV, the intuitive yet fully-featured 2D game engine from PLAYISM and Gotcha Gotcha Games Inc., now let professional and hobbyist developers apply for worldwide publishing of their creations on the Nintendo eShop. Pixel Game Maker MV is the sister software to RPG Maker which sold more than 2,000,000 copies worldwide.
 
Creators can now apply with Gotcha Gotcha Games Inc, a subsidiary of KADOKAWA CORPORATION, to publish their games on Switch. Showcased during the Indie Live Expo II, the first PGMMV games available on the eShop will include STEOS -Sorrow song of Bounty hunter- produced by Tatsuya Suzuki (Echochrome), DUNGEON OF NAZARICK and The Witch The 66 Mushrooms. Their release date is to be announced. More amazing games are to come such as MEDIUM-NAUT by Takumi Naramura, creator La-Mulana and Puzzl Pedestrians from Nishi Kenichi (Moon, Chibi Robo).
 
Offering top-down and side-scrolling views, local multiplayer support up to 4 players, various built-in assets, and example games, Pixel Game Maker MV enables anyone to develop the game of their dreams without any programming experience. The engine’s future update will provide developers the ability to create even more involved games than before with the new Database functionality, enabling the easy creation of inventory management systems.
 
Following last year’s contest, PLAYISM and Gotcha Gotcha Games Inc. are partnering to hold another game dev contest hosted on Itch.io, the Pixel Game Maker MV Game Development Challenge 2020. Judges include Richard Lems from Blastmode, developer on the highly-anticipated Mighty Goose, and Takumi Naramura from La-Mulana and La-Mulana 2. More amazing judges are to be announced. In addition, popular YouTube creators Extra Credits will host weekly streams showcasing PGMMV on their Twitch channel as they make their own game from scratch.
