Infinity Kingdom, a brand-new strategy MMO releasing on January 23rd 2025, is one you really don’t want to miss. I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on this joyful and addictive new game already, and I can tell you – it’s a real delight! If you’re into fun, adventure, and heroic quests, pay attention as I explain what makes this fun and free title stand out.
Infinity World, an overview
You play as a lord in a fantastical medieval realm, the Land of Norheim. It’s a colourful, whimsical place with plenty of potential to meet whacky characters like mischievous gnomes. But underpinning all this whimsy is a great strategic challenge: defending your realm from rival players who would seize it from you. Being able to defend your land is no easy task; if you wish to be the rightful ruler of the realm, you’ll have to tactically deploy heroes, complete epic quests, and prove your military tactics in strategic battle gameplay. And you’ll have to beat me!
There’s a lot I enjoyed about the game, but let me tell you about the features that I loved most:
Dragon riding!
That’s right, you can raise and train dragons from eggs to majestic beasts. They’re the ultimate flying weapon, giving you a vital strategic edge on any battle. Not all dragons are hatched equal either, each has unique skills and has the potential to master different elemental powers. I’ll never forget the bond I made with my first dragon, an ice-dragon I named Athrix; he saved me more times than I can count!
Unique and characterful heroes
Alongside dragons, heroes are crucial pieces on the battlefield. And Infinity Kingdom’s heroes are full of character. There’s more than 70 of them, inspired by and styled after real historical figures. Expect Spartans, Romans, Egyptians and more. Each of them can be upgraded and their different playstyles – ranging from fast-shooting archers to elemental spellcasters – can be combined in unique and powerful combinations that will undermine your opponents’ best defences.
Waging war!
There’s no greater feeling in Infinity Kingdom than seeing your hard-trained forces amass outside an enemy stronghold in a now-or-never moment. The battles themselves take more than strength and numbers, you’ll need to outsmart your foes tactically if you wish to claim their precious territory and loot.
Teaming up with friends
Sometimes, you just can’t do it alone. Instead, you’ll need to put out a call for aid and join forces with allies in challenging cooperative missions. These are some of the quest types that I enjoyed most of all: the guild wars and expeditions in which teamwork is essential. The sense of satisfaction and comradery is unforgettable!
Satisfying strategy!
As much as I enjoyed flying dragons and training my favourite heroes, the best part about Infinity Kingdom is about how all the pieces come together. The decisions you make, both before battle and in-battle have real consequences. You really get the feeling that you’re shaping your own destiny and that you won’t rule the realm unless you deserve it.
