Farkle: Tavern Dice Launches on Steam, Bringing Classic Dice Gameplay to an Atmospheric Medieval Tavern

Released on October 21, 2026, Farkle: Tavern Dice brings the classic dice game into a fully rendered 3D medieval tavern, combining traditional tabletop gameplay with immersive visuals, atmospheric lighting, ambient sounds, and authentic music from the medieval period.

Farkle: Tavern Dice challenges players to master the balance between risk and reward.

Starting with six dice, players build scoring combinations and must decide whether to bank their points or continue rolling for an even higher score. One unlucky throw can erase everything earned during the turn.

With straightforward rules and strategic decision-making, the game offers an accessible experience for both newcomers and fans of traditional dice games.

Rather than presenting Farkle as a conventional digital board game, Pterosoft Studio has created a detailed medieval tavern environment.

Warm lighting, realistic 3D dice, atmospheric tavern sounds, and historical medieval music transport players into the setting of a traditional medieval dice game.

One of the project's distinguishing features is its technology.

Farkle: Tavern Dice was developed using Ptero-Engine, Pterosoft Studio's proprietary game engine, rather than Unreal Engine or Unity.

The custom DirectX 12 renderer incorporates advanced real-time rendering technologies, including ray-traced global illumination, to create the game's atmosphere.

The release also represents an important milestone in the studio's ongoing development of its independent game engine.
