Ukie and the Video Standards Council (VSC) are supporting the first ever Family Gaming Area at MCM Comic Con from Friday 28th October to Sunday 30th October at the Excel Centre in London.
The section contains dozens of hand picked games from the past 40 years which both demonstrate the breadth of games available to play to families to help parents and carers understand the full breadth of games and what they can offer their families.
The area has been curated by Andy Robertson, editor of parent information site http://www.askaboutgames.com and creator of the Family Gaming Database.
A handful of titles on show include:
- Alba: A Wildlife Adventure
- Arms
- Dorfromantik
- Loop Hero
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Stray
- Townscape
- Wilmot’s Warehouse
- And many more
The aim is to demystify concerns around video games and celebrate the fun they can offer families, helping parents and carers feel confident that they can make play work for their families.
We’re inviting you to meet our Family Games expert Andy Robertson at MCM Comic Con to talk to him about what’s going on in the Family Gaming Area, about the full selection of games on show and for general advice on supporting safe and sensible play at home.
If you’d like to set up a time to speak at the event, or prior to Comic Con, please email Ukie’s Head of Campaigns and Communications George Osborn at george@ukie.org.uk to arrange a time to speak.
