Experience brutal medieval life in Tales of Old: Dominus on November 3, 2025

Live one man’s vengeance in a Dark Ages open-world RPG

[Spain] – October 15, 2025 – Hvmana Industries MMD and indie.io are pleased to announce that Tales of Old: Dominus will be available on Steam on November 3! This dark tale invites players on a path of vengeance: They become a survivor of the Battle of the Brides, who return home to find their village burned to the ground, with only carrion eaters picking over the remains. The open world beckons as Eric of Woldham plots his open-ended revenge.

The Battle of the Brides was a short, brutal ending of a peasant rebellion. The rebels raised their flag when the ruling nobility enacted primae nocta laws: The right of a feudal lord to lay with a bride on her wedding night. The poor, aided by just a handful of upstanding nobles, rose up against this barbaric declaration. The resistance was drowned in blood, with few survivors. Eric was one of those who did not lose his life, but his village, Woldham, paid the ultimate price.

Players enter the story just as he returns, sifting through the ashes and dispatching a band of brigands flying loyalist colors, then disappearing into the woods. Eric must survive and find allies in a world that offers neither comfort nor kindness. Establishing a foothold begins with claiming a camp from the brigands, burning their tents, defeating their leader, and seizing control of the territory. From this fragile start, players will begin to rebuild, gathering resources through foraging, crafting, or stealing to construct the foundations of a settlement under a banner of their own.

As new dwellers are drawn to his banner, the settlement grows, marking only the first step on the long road to vengeance. Soon, allies will arrive and a sprawling main quest will unfold—one that will test loyalty, leadership, and resolve. Beyond survival and rebuilding, players can shape Eric’s role in countless ways, whether as a hardened warrior, stealthy ranger, cunning rogue, or skilled craftsman. Become a blacksmith, a fletcher, or a master weaponsmith; every choice defines his fate. Combat remains brutal and unflinching. Players will master a visceral, period-accurate combat system where weapons carve devastating wounds and enemies can be forced to their knees begging for mercy.

Those who favor stealth can use the cover of night to strike at unsuspecting targets, claiming new territory under their banner. Such covert operations demand strategy and support. Companions and soldiers are essential to maintain camps, gather resources, and help clear contested zones of brigands and criminals. For those who prefer subtler methods, domination through cunning and shadows can be just as powerful as open battle, turning secrecy into strength on the long road to vengeance. Through these actions, players can carve out their own path, rising to become a wealthy merchant, a feared outlaw, or a noble leader with a just cause.

Nothing is set in stone, and the open-ended character progression ensures that players are free to shape Eric's destiny however they see fit: A noble knight adhering to classic notions of chivalry, a rich merchant not afraid to get his hands dirty, or a clever assassin who will never be noted in the mists of history for his role in toppling the nobility...

Ready to guide Eric of Woldham against the corrupt nobles? Tales of Old: Dominus will release on Steam on November 3!
