Dragonkin: The Banished's Early Access Expands With the Arrival of Nurorgartt in its First Major Update

Lesquin, France, May 20, 2025 – NACON and Eko Software are pleased to present the first major update for Dragonkin: The Banished. Available in Early Access on Steam since March 2025, this new Hack'n'Slash immerses players in a fantasy world corrupted by powerful draconic forces. Based on its roadmap and community feedback, the game has since been enhanced with numerous elements that make the dragon hunters' quest even more exciting. Dragonkin: The Banished is already available in Early Access on Steam and will be available on consoles upon its final release.

With this latest update, players can now explore the icy lands of Nurorgartt, where they will face new creatures while searching for an even greater threat: a Dragon Lord who reigns over these lands, fearsome and merciless.

To rise to the challenge, in the greatest tradition of Hack'n'Slash games, players must build and master their heroes' builds. They first utilize Dragonkin's unique skill system: the Ancestral Grid, which allows players to create their most effective builds to overcome the hordes of enemies that reign in this dragon-corrupted world.

Additionally, the City of Montescail serves as a true hub where players can take advantage of a host of upgrades. Its streets now house new artisans, whose services greatly contribute to enhancing the theorycrafting. The Enchanter, The Memorialist, The Artificer, The Grand Blesser, each have something to offer to everyone, depending on their playstyle. To easily test enhancement combinations, the addition of the Arsenal allows players to save and fully load a character and its build (equipment, attributes, passives, Ancestral Grid, and Wyrmling).

In addition to the Hunt Board and Dungeon Purifications already present since the Early Access launch, a new endgame mode is now available: The Test of Will. In this demanding challenge, players dive into a mental dimension where they face waves of enemies in successive trials. The longer they survive, the more valuable the rewards, but if they continue and fail, they risk losing everything.

The team of Hack'n'Slash veteran enthusiasts at Eko Software seek to make their mark on the genre and continue to imagine interesting innovations for expert players. This first update incorporates several improvements designed from community feedback. It notably includes a rebalancing of loot rates and an increase in enemy density, making confrontations more dynamic and intense. Furthermore, various quality-of-life adjustments have been made: combat sensations are improved, the camera can be pulled back further, and many other enhancements aim to enrich the overall player experience.

In Dragonkin: The Banished, players embody one of three available dragon hunters with the objective of freeing humanity from the invading draconic forces. To meet this challenge, the game offers deep theorycrafting through various character enhancement mechanics, giving enthusiasts endless build possibilities. Players develop their hero's abilities through a unique skill system called the Ancestral Grid by associating fragments obtained during their adventure. They also benefit from the City of Montescail, a true hub that allows them to implement their strategy thanks to numerous services. Accompanied by their faithful dragonling, they discover an intriguing story as well as an endgame rich in activities and especially epic battles.
