December 1st, 2020 - The 11th Annual Indie of the Year Awards have officially kicked off. 2020 has been a wild ride, and the biggest year for gaming of all time so it feels fitting to start a player voted search for the years biggest indie hits. A voting booth has been added to all indie profiles on IndieDB, and for the next four weeks gamers will vote to determine the top 100 games of 2020 (announced December 11) and then the overall winner will be announced shortly after Christmas.

Last year the community voted 21,156 times, which ultimately resulted in retro-remake Ion Fury take the throne for the players choice Indie of the Year, followed by the destructible masterpiece Noita and rounded out by the survival horror game Daymare: 1998. They are joined by previous iconic winners including Minecraft and Rimworld.

From now until the close of 2020, join in the fun and help us to celebrate the highly creative and unique nature of indie games that now play such a big part in the overall games industry!
