Transmedia Collaboration with Metal Band ERRA and Animation Powerhouse THE LINE Reveals the Next Narrative Chapter of Warframe – Jade Shadows: Constellations

Music, animation, and storytelling collide with gaming in an explosive, anime-inspired visual overture

LONDON, Ontario – April 27, 2026 – Digital Extremes, the developers of Warframe, progressive metalcore band ERRA, and BAFTA-nominated animation arthouse THE LINE have united to collaboratively release a new anime-inspired short revealing Jade Shadows: Constellations, a new Narrative Chapter for Warframe, launching for free on all platforms in June. Directed by Louve Sarfati Karnas (Hades II Cinematic Animated Trailer) and Warframe Creative Director, Rebecca Ford, the animated short follows rivals from two future timelines in a cosmic battle within the fan-favorite sci-fi epic.

"Storytelling is paramount to Warframe's development, and each creative choice is in service to building its world and lore in emotionally evocative and relatable ways," said Rebecca Ford, Warframe Creative Director. "We're incredibly blessed to have a community of players who like to see us take risks and challenge ourselves creatively as we shape the story of Warframe, the story of their journey in the Origin System. The opportunity to collaborate with one of my favorite bands and animation studios to introduce a new Warframe story means everything to me."

"As a ten-plus-year Warframe player, a collaboration with one of my favorite games and studios was a dream come true,” said JT Cavey, ERRA vocalist. “It almost seemed like fate when the game revealed a character named Erra in the storyline. The band is full of gamers; we were delighted to make this happen, and I hope both fanbases enjoy the content that follows. Wake up, Tenno!"

"I feel like nostalgia is inherently a huge part of a director’s inspirations. I’m a very nostalgic person,” said Louve Sarfati Karnas, THE LINE Director. “I grew up with punk music – from my brother’s bedroom where he would be playing guitar while I played the Super Nintendo, to my parents’ car when going on trips. I would listen to all my favourite albums on my first MP3 while coming back from school. I always imagined myself being in the band performing, or stories unfolding of epic proportions. This film is the embodiment of all these memories."

Following the trailer reveal, the Warframe dev team also treated viewers to a few more details for Jade Shadows: Constellations, including a brief insight into the new Quest, a look at upcoming Protoframes for Ash and Garuda, an ability retouch for Nidus, and the return of the Operation: Belly of the Beast in-game clan event in May.

Highlights from the April Devstream include:

Witness the celestial clash of two rivals never meant to exist in the same moment during Warframe’s next major story Quest, Jade Shadows: Constellations:

  • Continue the tale of Stalker and his newfound child, either Sirius or Orion, depending on players’ choices in the original Jade Shadows Quest. Both of these potential futures collide with meteoric force into the present, fighting for their timelines’ canonical survival.
  • Witness the clash between Sirius and Orion and carry on the legacy of not only their father, but their own entire realities they hope to preserve.
  • Discover more Railjack missions in a new region of space, Uranus Proxima, offering post-Quest narrative beats and onboard threats to survive.
  • For more information about Sirius, Orion, and the new Railjack missions, please tune into the May Warframe Devstream.

Meet the new temporal guardian Protoframes from opposing timelines:
  • Study under the tutelage of Ryoku, the Protoframe for Ash, a master of stealth and virtue, looking to quell the rage of the rival timeline to protect his own.
  • Align with the vengeance of Vena, the Protoframe for Garuda, a regent of blood and sheer power seeking to wipe out weak beings for the stain they leave on reality.
  • Complete the Jade Shadows: Constellations Quest and unlock either partnered Protoframe as a contract Railjack crew member viable for any ship role.

Return to past junctures and discover a revived Clan event, reworked Warframe, or new deluxe cosmetics:
  • Venture toward Uranus for the return of Clan Operation: Belly of the Beast, offering previous rewards like cosmetics from the first Jade Shadows Operation, as well as new gear from May 4 to June 1 as a lead-up to Warframe’s next Narrative Chapter.
  • Breathe in the infestation of Nidus, the adaptive scourge, once more to experiment with a fresh ability retouch, giving him more survivability and viability in combat.
  • Dress up for the occasion with a new, highly requested, deluxe skin for Dante, the master of reality’s pages, inspired by the wisdom of the watchful owl.

About ERRA
Formed in 2009 in Birmingham, AL, ERRA has established themselves as one of progressive metal's most compelling forces. The five-piece — Alex Ballew (drums), Jesse Cash (guitar/vocals), J.T. Cavey (lead vocals), Conor Hesse (bass), and Clint Tustin (guitar) — built their reputation on a signature sound that balances visceral aggression with atmospheric introspection, a contrast that has defined their music since their self-released debut EP. Now seven albums deep, ERRA continue to push the boundaries of progressive metal with their latest record, silence outlives the earth. Produced by Daniel Braunstein, who also helmed their previous album, the record is their most cohesive and thematically ambitious work to date — exploring liminal spaces, existential tension, and the emotional weight of a world in constant flux.
