The game’s critical acclaim is equally remarkable, and in 2023 the game has even won the TIGA Award, recognizing the game “for its creativity, innovation, strong visual design, great sound design, and excellent game design”.
In just two years, Starship Troopers: Terran Command has expanded its universe with two DLCs:
- Raising Hell (2023): A fiery addition with 7 campaign missions set on the volcanic planet Gehenna.
- Urban Onslaught (2024): Brought the urban warfare of Mahanagar to life with 9 action-packed missions.
Both expansions also included free challenge missions, giving players the ultimate test of strategy and skill.
During this year’s Slitherine Next, a new game mode has been unveiled: Territory Mode. This will be part of a major free update early next year, and will add a ton of new content to both the base game and the two currently released DLCs.
This game mode is played on a whole range of new maps, where the player can make use of all units from the base game and any owned DLCs to fight the Arachnids over “territory points”. These points provide resources over time to purchase units, replace casualties and invest in new technologies.
Territory Mode focuses on player choices, customization and replayability, ensuring a fresh experience with every playthrough. Currently in closed beta, the mode will soon be available in open beta, allowing more players to join the action.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is developed by The Artistocrats, and continues to be supported by the publisher and the fans, who can look forward to many adventures in this RTS universe.
