MAKE GAMES ANYWHERE WITH ‘XOGOT’, GODOT FOR IPAD, NOW ON IPHONE

Bringing a native coding experience for Godot developers to the iPhone.

BOSTON, USAOctober 8th, 2025 – Xibbon, Inc., is excited to reveal that their Apple application ‘Xogot’ has been updated to support iPhone. Built from the ground up specially for development on mobile devices, Xogot allows users to use Godot on iPad – and now on the iPhone.

Native Touch Design

Xogot has taken Godot and completely rewritten the interface with SwiftUI for on-the-go development. Following Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, users can expect a carefully crafted experience that’s built for touch. Common tools and editors have been thoughtfully redesigned with considerations toward the smaller screen size and power difference between desktop and mobile. The end result is a seamless Godot experience that game developers can take from their computer to mobile devices and back.

Bridging a Gap

Xogot has been in the making since 2023 as the ultimate Apple user “companion app” for video game developers using Godot. Development began after founder and CEO, Miguel de Icaza, noticed a lack of professional-grade iPad apps for game developers, contrasting creative industry favorites like Logic Pro for music production, Final Cut Pro for video editing, and Procreate or Nomad Sculpt for artists. Combining his love for the Godot open-source project and the iPad operating system, this port of the game engine first arrived on the Apple App Store for iPad users earlier this year in May and is now optimized for iPhones as well.

“Godot is a powerful game engine that has been enjoying incredible growth in adoption, but until now, it’s been desktop-bound,” said Miguel de Icaza, Co-Founder & CEO of Xibbon. “With Xogot for iPhone, we’re putting that same power in your pocket. Whether you’re prototyping on the train or refining your level designs in a coffee shop, Xogot transforms the iPhone into a truly personal game studio. As someone who has always believed in the creative potential of Apple’s devices, Xogot makes the iPhone a fully capable game development tool for whenever and wherever inspiration strikes.”

Get Started Now

Developers can get started by using Xogot Lite or Xogot Pro. Xogot Lite is a free tier offering most of the core editor features and designed for smaller projects, with limits on project size, number of active projects and advanced settings. Upgrade to Pro to work on larger projects, use external storage, and access advanced settings, with monthly (2.99 USD), annual (29.99 USD), and lifetime (149.99 USD) pricing models. Enrolled students can take advantage of a free 1-year subscription to Xogot for personal use by applying on Xogot for Students, while developers participating in game jams can apply for a free 1-month subscription.

“We’ve seen incredible interest in Xogot on iPad, especially from educators bringing game development into the classroom and indie devs who are adopting touch and Apple Pencil-friendly creative tools like Procreate and Nomad Sculpt. With Xogot on iPhone, we’re taking that same power and making it even more accessible – giving students a way to continue their work outside of class and show off their projects to friends, and letting developers build and share games whenever they find a spare moment to create,” shared Joseph Hill, Co-Founder of Xibbon.

About Xibbon, Inc.

Xibbon, Inc. was founded by Miguel de Icaza and Joseph Hill with the goal to build high-quality apps for the Apple ecosystem. When Unity changed their runtime licensing and alienated their indie developer community, Xibbon threw themselves into bringing Godot to iPad, something they had been kicking around for a while. Their previous company, Xamarin, acquired by Microsoft in 2016, brought C# to mobile app development, where they continued to help grow C# and the .NET ecosystem. This included integrating C# into other game engines, bringing Visual Studio to the Mac, and improving Unity’s interoperability with Visual Studio.

Prior to Xibbon and Xamarin, Miguel de Icaza was already well known in the developer world for his pioneering work in open source software, having founded both Mono (which provides Unity’s C# support) and the GNOME desktop, along with several other projects that drove early adoption of Linux on the desktop.
