Göteborg, Sweden — Indie studio Apskeppet is excited to announce a brand new version of Icy Tower, the legendary vertical platformer that captured millions of players worldwide. Launching on Steam in 2026 to celebrate its 25th anniversary, this reimagining brings back the charm and challenge of the original mixed with fresh visuals, new mechanics, and modern polish.
The game is rebuilt from the ground up by the original creators, Johan Peitz and Anders "Neo" Svensson, with the help of renowned pixel artists Rudy Flores and Franek.
Keeping its irresistible "just one more try" gameplay, Icy Tower is back to challenge players to climb higher, score bigger combos, and relive an indie classic.
Key features
* Endless climbing action - jump up the ever changing tower, no two playthroughs are the same
* Combo-driven gameplay - chain jumps for massive scores and build up the new kickback feature
* Modern touch - crisp new pixel art, live-recorded soundtrack, smooth animations, and tight controls
“Icy Tower has always been close to my heart and bringing it back feels like reuniting with an old friend. We can’t wait for fans to get jumping again and rediscover the tower!” said Johan Peitz, one of the original developers of Icy Tower and founder of Apskeppet.
Icy Tower will be available on PC (Steam) in 2026.
