Cloudhead Games Spotlights VR Gaming with 4 Speakers at Devcom 2021

Don’t miss Cloudhead Games at “devcom 2021”, revealing the inspired chaos behind the award-winning action-rhythm FPS, Pistol Whip.

In 2021, Europe’s biggest game developer conference will once again offer a wide range of events and sessions for international game developers, game publishers, and services providers. #ddc2021 will be 100% digital.

QUALICUM BEACH, BC – Aug. 10, 2021 - The innovative folks at Cloudhead Games are pioneers in the VR gaming world, and Cloudhead’s devcom 2021 speakers have a combined 55 years of game development and VR experience between them. The studio is bubbling with excitement at the prospect of having 4 of their team talking about VR — a relatively new branch of the field, but one that is poised to be the future of the video game experience. Ashley “ashleyriott” Blake, Social Media & Community Relations and so much more at Cloudhead, is the first of the team to give a talk at devcom with “Take control of your community: How early choices can empower positive engagement.” If you ask her, “VR is the future of gaming, and building communities around this new medium requires thoughtful choices that I’m excited to talk about at Devcom.”

Riding the wave of their biggest release to date, which went live on August 12th, the team is just starting to catch their breath; however, Cameron Oltmann, Gameplay Lead at Cloudhead, is still excited about VR. He describes it as “a truly transformative technology. It allows us to have experiences that just weren't possible even a handful of years ago. Wonderful, compelling, truly life-changing experiences.” Catch Cameron discussing what it takes to push out an award-winning game in under a year during his August 24 session, “Developing with Purpose: A look at the pillars behind award-winning Pistol Whip VR.”

“The Art of Action: A comprehensive look at the art & inspiration behind award-winning Pistol Whip VR” is the third and final talk from Cloudhead, on August 25th, given by two of their groundbreaking Art team, Jonathan Hackett, Art Lead, and Sarah Roland, 3D Generalist. According to Sarah, "With VR we can give people artistic experiences and inspire emotions like never before; our talk will explore how we made that happen in Pistol Whip."
