[Wednesday, 28 July 2021] Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA), an organization that advocates for the use of blockchain within the game industry, welcomes Piers Kicks, Head of Crypto at BITKRAFT and Venture Partner at Delphi Digital as their newest board member. BGA is optimistic that more companies and organizations will be educated about the use of blockchain in gaming to engage with the projects they are building.

With the growth of blockchain game adoption, Piers' vision and demonstrated ability in venture capital, crypto, and games can help our members, and provide more opportunities in this space. The use case of non-fungible token (NFT) in gaming has created player ownership and virtual economies never before seen in the world of gaming. Growth in user adoption has been seen with blockchain games such as Axie Infinity, which surpassed Ethereum’s daily protocol revenue at the height of its popularity in mid-July. As the industry is still in its early stages, education, collaboration, and funding are needed if these new applications are to realize their full potential.

BGA members represent an array of games, developer solutions, protocols, NFT marketplaces, legal firms, and media. Membership to the organization has grown by 54% in 2021. Current BGA board members such as Sebastien Borget of Animoca Brands, & The Sandbox, Gabby Dizon of Yield Guild Games, Aleksander Larsen of Sky Mavis, Shaban Shaame of EverdreamSoft, Nicolas Pouard of Ubisoft, Ludovic Courcelas of ConsenSys, Nicolas Gilot of Ultra, and Marc Coupal of Enjin, have been creating an open and inclusive platform for discussion, collaboration, and engagement in the blockchain gaming industry.

Piers is Head of Crypto at BITKRAFT, where he identifies and evaluates new investment opportunities with a particular focus on the rapidly evolving crypto landscape. Prior to joining BITKRAFT, he was a Founding Partner in the investment arm of the leading institutional research firm covering the digital asset market—Delphi Digital. He remains a Venture Partner in the fund to cover the earliest-stage crypto opportunities across NFTs, gaming, and interactive media.
Piers acquired his first bitcoin at 13 years old in exchange for virtual currency in Runescape.
