CALIFORNIA, October 26, 2026 — Indie developer Crowfriend and publisher Vendetta have announced that their cozy-horror-job simulator The Mailroom is now available on PC via Steam. A free demo is also available, allowing players to experience The Mailroom prior to purchase.

The Mailroom takes place in a small regional office of Hell, known to some as Modesto, California. You don’t know why or how you got there, but one thing is certain—you need to clock in.

The Mailroom is centered around your job as a living mail sorter; as time passes strangely within this dark realm, you must sort infernal mail and send it to your overlords on the correct floors. Inspect each envelope closely, as the office tends to receive junk and other unwanted mail. Each day presents unique challenges and introduces new gameplay mechanics—from dissecting seemingly innocuous amphibians to preventing blood-fueled equipment failure, The Mailroom consistently iterates upon its own ideas.

WHY THE MAILROOM IS A FRIGHTFUL DELIGHT:

  • Mystery Solving – From your mysterious arrival to the secrets that arise on the job, The Mailroom keeps you morbidly curious throughout.

  • Fire and Brimstone Aesthetic – The Mailroom features a very deliberate color palette; the cool colors of the cold, indifferent brick walls highlight the hellish reds of the fires that permeate through the office.

  • Crunchy 3D Art Style – Utilizing computer graphics techniques to create an intentionally pixelated 3D environment, The Mailroom makes the most of its enclosed setting.

  • Dark Humor – Whether through precarious amounts of “butt paper” or performing necromancy as part of routine machine maintenance, The Mailroom has an abundance of gruesomely humorous interactions to experience.

GAMEPLAY

  • Mail Sorting – Inspect each letter closely and determine which floor to send it to. Through pattern recognition, it becomes like second nature—but don’t grow too comfortable. Any and all mistakes will be noticed.

  • Machine Maintenance – Utilize magical artifacts, ancient tools, and occult rituals to keep the machines operating as though your life depends on it; if any are to stop, your heart may be next.

  • Processing Strange Specimens – Dissect (or pet) strange specimens sent to your workspace and process raw materials to be sent to the upper floors of Hell.

  • Resource Management – You only have so many tools at your disposal, so use them wisely. Mishandle any one resource, and you risk the umbral higher rungs of Hell growing displeased.

  • Exploring the Office – As you progress, your access to the surrounding area expands; somewhere within these blood-ridden walls, is there a way out…?
