Build War Machines. Battle Your Way

The new Vehicle Assembly Platform lets players combine chassis, engines, weapons, armor modules, and utilities to create unique war rigs. With over 40 components available — all earned through gameplay — every build offers a distinct playstyle.

Each part affects critical performance metrics like speed, firepower, and durability. Strategic limits like weight, power draw, and mount points ensure balanced gameplay and encourage thoughtful design. Once built, vehicles can be deployed instantly for real-time testing on the battlefield.

Black Sun Obelisks – Endgame Combat Meets Construction

The update also introduces seven Black Sun Obelisks, high-difficulty late-game dungeons with unique terrain and exclusive boss mechanics. These zones feature Vehicle Monsters, acting as both loot sources and skill checks for your creations.

This ties directly into a new core loop:
Challenge → Loot → Build → Dominate.

This deeper progression system brings more strategic weight and long-term goals to the game’s sandbox gameplay.

Expanded Lore and Enhanced Systems

The game’s lore around the enigmatic Black Sun Project has also evolved, with new zones and data logs revealing more about the Empire’s Ether experiments. While the core narrative is still in early stages, this update lays the groundwork for future story development.

Under the hood, core systems have also been improved:

  • Terrain loading has been optimized
  • AI behaviors have been refined
  • Character performance and UI interactions have been upgraded

These refinements significantly enhance player experience, especially in large-scale engagements.

More to Come: Air Units, Spider Tanks, Paint Customization

Looking ahead, the development team is doubling down on the freeform combat design introduced with this update. Features currently in development include:

  • Flying vehicles
  • Spider-leg war machines
  • Paint and skin customization systems

With “build freely, fight tactically” at its core, The Front is evolving into a robust sandbox for strategic warfare and player expression.
