REYKJAVÍK, Iceland, August 31, 2026: Icelandic indie studio Pretty Potato Games has announced that Nokai, its open world ocean survival co-op adventure, is taking part in Steam PvE Survival Crafting Fest, running August 31 through September 7.
The game is also receiving a massive update to its playable demo, introducing new content and improvements for players to experience during the festival.
Nokai is a mix of the hugely popular crafting survival genre and the classic adventure games that inspired it. Drawing inspiration from games such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Nokai combines resource gathering, crafting, exploration, and survival with a world built around discovery, progression, and adventure.
Players set sail with up to five friends and journey north through a vast and hostile ocean. Along the way, they explore remote islands, establish temporary camps, maintain and upgrade their ship, fight strange creatures, and uncover the mysteries of a world that is slowly falling apart.
During the festival, players can jump into the updated playable demo and experience Nokai's blend of survival crafting, exploration, and adventure.
Rather than building a permanent home and staying in one place, Nokai is built around the journey. Camps act as temporary footholds where players can recover, gather resources, and prepare for what comes next before setting sail again.

Development of Nokai began in 2021 and is supported by a Rannís innovation grant in Iceland. The game is currently in development for PC, with console support planned to come later.
