Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, October 14, 2025 - Indie developer Heavy Lunch Studio has released a limited-time Hermit and Pig demo during Steam Next Fest, allowing players to explore beyond the prologue into the first world of the game for the first time publicly.
Hermit and Pig features a reclusive hermit and his truffle pig. When the local factory mysteriously replaces its workers with shady personnel, the pair of unfortunate heroes set out to find an enormous, mythical mushroom to save the town, but they aren’t the only ones looking for it… Along the way, Hermit and Pig dig up mushrooms and chaos, all while trying to avoid social interactions.
In the extended demo, players will venture deeper into the forest and uncover early clues to the corporate conspiracy lying at the center of the game’s plot. This will be the first opportunity for the public to engage with a number of new enemy types and battle mechanics, including using Pig as a companion in battle, and converse with the growing cast of NPCs in the game’s signature, anxiety-inducing conversation battles.
