Farm to Table Adds a New Rancher, Controller Support and More Room to Grow

Major Update OUT NOW, with 28% OFF during the Steam Autumn Sale. Co-op testing targeted before the end of 2026.

*** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***

Istanbul, Türkiye, October 6, 2026: indieGiant Games’ major Early Access update for Farm to Table is out now, bringing more space, new automation, and controller support to its cozy farming and restaurant management sim. Players build a hilltop restaurant, grow their own ingredients, raise animals, hire staff, and turn a small backyard business into a thriving operation. The game is also currently 28% off during the Steam Autumn Sale.

The update gives players four new plots of land to expand into, a new Rancher who can take over animal care, Xbox and DualSense controller support, new staff automation, much larger storage options, and a significantly improved Steam Deck experience.

For returning players, all four new plots can be purchased without starting a new save, while new automation tools give staff more responsibility across the farm and restaurant.

Key Update Features

  • Meet the Rancher: Players can now hire a dedicated Rancher to feed animals, collect their products, and carry them directly to storage, with each Rancher able to manage up to eight livestock buildings. New Waiter Payment Collection research also lets Waiters collect money left on tables, giving players more time to cook, build, expand, and manage their business.
  • Four New Plots. More Room to Grow: Four additional purchasable plots dramatically increase the space available for larger farms, bigger restaurants, expanded production areas, gardens, and new builds. Existing saves remain fully usable, with the new land available without restarting.
  • Controller Support Is Finally Here: Xbox and DualSense controller support now covers gameplay, menus, tablet apps, building, painting, staff management, research, and other in-game interactions. Players can also customize keyboard, mouse, and controller bindings separately.
  • 60 FPS on Steam Deck: Farm to Table now runs at 60 FPS on Steam Deck, alongside improvements to handheld controls, UI navigation, and performance. Supported text fields also make use of Steam’s on-screen keyboard.
  • Build a Bigger Operation: Two new storage options make it easier to handle large harvests and busy restaurants, including a High-Capacity Shelf that holds up to 192 items. Players can also place or replace flooring without moving furniture first and finally relocate the big tree instead of designing around it.
  • More Control Over Your Crew: Staff can now be customized with different clothing, colors, shoes, skin tones, facial features, and more, or dressed in matching team colors. Daily Staff Bonuses boost movement and work speed by 30%, with an option to renew them automatically each day.
  • A Better View of the Business: The redesigned Management Screen gives players a much clearer picture of how their restaurant is performing, including star goals, expected guests, best-selling products, sales quantities and revenue across the restaurant, market, and deliveries. A new Needs Attention panel highlights problems such as missing ingredients, waiting orders, dirty tables, and unhappy departures, helping players identify where service needs attention.

The update also brings a redesigned painting experience with new roller animations and effects, more flexible staff assignments, improvements to staff AI, expanded graphics and display options, adjustable HUD settings, and extensive performance work for busy restaurants and lower graphics settings.

Numerous quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes are also included, addressing staff getting stuck on unreachable tasks, Chefs stopping order checks, building and placement issues, controller navigation, storage behavior, graphics settings, and more.

What’s Next: Co-op Multiplayer

With the major update now live, co-op multiplayer remains one of the solo developer’s biggest priorities, with testing targeted to begin before the end of 2026. Future updates will also expand the game with more recipes, new cooking stations, furniture, and decorations, giving players more ways to develop their kitchens and make their farm and restaurant their own.
