FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRESCOTT, Arizona — September 28, 2026 — Shibui Labs LLC today announced that Eternal Blade, the open-world souls-like action RPG adapted from its original manga series of the same name, will release a free playable demo on Steam on Friday, October 2, 2026. The game will also be featured in Steam Next Fest, October 19–26, 2026.
Eternal Blade follows Emerald, last of the Murakai bloodline and daughter of the legendary Sensei Lux, who has been sealed with the Light Walker warriors in the Soulless Citadel by a Dark Warlord's curse. To break it, Emerald must gather the Almighty Gemstones and wield the Eternal Blade before the traitor Kage reaches them first.
Combat is built on timing: every parry feeds the Almighty Power Meter, players can switch weapons mid-parry and counter, and the meter is spent on supernatural Almighty abilities. Between fights the world is open, spanning Kubu Forest, Forbidden Forest, Fukushu Bay and Shamakai Marsh, with enemy camps, puzzles, side quests, hunting, fishing, cooking, crafting and stealth. The demo includes roughly one hour of main quest, two or more hours with side content, and four bosses including the dragon Enraku.
The game is developed by a two-person team. James Fazio created the world, wrote the manga and the game; Izaac Rodrigues, the manga's artist, built the game solo in Unreal Engine 5 over the past year. The Eternal Blade manga has been publishing for two years and is free to read at eternalbladeofficial.com.
