DoubleDGames today announced Andromeda Wars, a retro-inspired real-time strategy game coming to Steam. Designed around massive fleet engagements, rapid decision-making, and intense resource management, players must carefully balance expansion, defence, and survival as rival factions launch relentless assaults across the galaxy.
At the heart of Andromeda Wars is a unique power management system. Every ship added to a fleet increases a player's military strength, but also consumes valuable power resources. Success depends on making strategic choices between aggression, defence, and long-term sustainability.
Players will command large-scale space battles across handcrafted campaign missions, skirmish maps, and custom scenarios. The game also includes a built-in map editor and Steam Workshop integration, allowing the community to create, share, and download custom battlefields.
One of the game's standout features is its time-slow targeting mechanic. Selecting a unit slows the action, giving players valuable tactical clarity to issue commands, prioritise enemy targets, and execute precise manoeuvres during chaotic fleet battles.
