TORONTO — TUESDAY, AUGUST 12, 2025 – Independent development studio Little Guy Games announces the release of a playable demo and trailer for Endless Night: The Darkness Within, giving players their first chance to experience a haunting psychological adventure that dives deep into the human psyche. The demo can be downloaded on Steam later today.
Endless Night: The Darkness Within is a 2.5D psychological Metroidvania where players step into the fractured mind of Jake, a man tormented by past trauma and driven by the need to heal. Guided by a mysterious Shaman, Jake ventures through four surreal dream realms – Darkness, War, Childhood, and Transcendence – each revealing powerful truths, terrifying enemies, and ultimately, the path to self-discovery.
The demo offers a taste of the full experience that includes:

Challenging boss battle against manifestations of Jake’s fears;

Intense combat system with upgradable gear

Environmental storytelling inspired by dreams and childhood memories;

Emotional encounters with enigmatic characters like the Burning Boy;

A haunting original soundtrack and atmospheric worldbuilding.
Inspired by Journey, Bruce Lee, Street Fighter, and the psychology of Carl Jung, Endless Night mixes expressive combat, a rich dream world, and a heartfelt story. Players explore grief, the subconscious, and self-discovery through puzzles, battles, and strange encounters.

The demo is available starting today for free on Steam, and the team invites players to dive in and share their experiences. The full game is slated to launch in 2026.
