PANGYO, South Korea (July 15, 2022) - WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of PC and mobile games, announced that its upcoming mobile MMORPG titled《R2M : 重燃戰火》will launch in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao on July 26.
WEBZEN hosted an online showcase today for gamers and media on the Webzen YouTube channel (WEBZEN Games - Official - YouTube) to reveal the release date and specific service plan for several regions.
In this showcase, Development Director Sungju An and Head of Business Department Jinsoo Lee explained the key features of the game and announced its launch plan.
In particular, game development stories and unique features which set R2M apart from other games, including the large-scale PvP at Spots and Sieges on mobile, guild features and dungeons were revealed through interviews, in-game screenshots, and footages.
To address the curiosity of gamers in those regions ahead of the launch, WEBZEN addressed questions submitted by players on the official Facebook page and introduced detailed character features, business model, localization work, operating plan, and messages for the Taiwanese gamers.
There was a giveaway event unveiling a surprise coupon code for viewers watching this online showcase. Players can enter the coupon code and get Weapon/Armor/Accessory Enhancement Scrolls after the official launch.
At the end of the showcase, a video message from popular Taiwanese influencers was presented, where they voiced their opinions and increased the expectations of the upcoming launch of 《R2M : 重燃戰火》.
R2M is the R2 IP-based MMORPG, available on iOS and Android, developed by WEBZEN Redcore, that comprises the core aspects of the original PC game ‘R2(Reign of Revolution)’, a beloved Korean PC online game of over 16 years.
Meanwhile, R2M recorded 1 million pre-registered users after three days during the pre-registration period ahead of its launch in South Korea. After the launch, the game proved to be a hit, reaching 1.2 million registered players, and placing Top 3 in Google Play's top-grossing chart.
Pre-registration on the official website, Google Play and App Store in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao is still in progress since June 15, and pre-creation of character’s name and guild will be available until July 22nd.
