Nightly siege survival
Liverpool, April 17th, 2026. Developer Ratbit Games and publisher Slug Disco are pleased to announce that The Ember Guardian, a roguelike strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic world, is out now!
“Defend the embers of hope in this roguelike strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Recruit and command workers to gather resources, build your camp and set up your defenses during the day. When night falls, fend off waves of deadly creatures with powerful, upgradable weapons.”
Over 12,000 players checked out the demo, which is the beginning of the full game featuring the first three levels of the campaign.
Completing these three levels isn’t the end of the demo. In fact, it’s the start of an endless journey. Players will be able to challenge their skills in the brand new Horde Mode, where they will be thrown into a randomly generated map with one goal: survival.
Every run in both the main story and Horde Mode will earn the player experience that unlocks a myriad of upgrades to strengthen their defences.
Progression in the demo (both the campaign and Horde Mode) will carry over to the full game on launch too.
The game has a few different launch options for players to check out:
- There is of course the base game with a limited time discount of 10% for 2 weeks following launch.
- The supporter pack bundles which includes the base game, the supporter Husky skin, and the official soundtrack. Buying all three together through the bundles nets players a further 10% off everything and really helps support Julien the solo developer of the game.
- The post-apocalyptic survival bundle with our friends at Barrel Smash Studios which includes The Ember Guardian and the newly released Oceaneers, a sci-fi survival-crafting colony sim set in a flooded world of floating islands!
