Originally released in 2022, the critically acclaimed Citizen Sleeper quickly became one of the year’s most lauded indie games. Its 2024 sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, launched to equally strong acclaim. Together, the two titles have cemented the franchise as a standout in narratively driven science fiction games.
In a nod to the series’ tabletop roots and the strategic dice-rolling gameplay mechanic, Jump Over The Age released Spindlejack as part of this week’s anniversary festivities. Spindlejack is a new, two-page solo tabletop RPG that can be downloaded and enjoyed by fans for free.
Spindlejack puts players into the seat of a courier on the space station Far Spindle, a familiar location from Starward Vector. Players will navigate the station, earn Cryo, build their reputation, make their mark on the courier scene, and try to survive in a hostile system - mirroring the hard decisions and emergent storytelling that fans have come to know and love from the series.
Recently announced, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will also be adding French, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese localization later this year, broadening access to the critically acclaimed narrative and making it more accessible to players worldwide.
What’s more, narrative indie label Fellow Traveller is celebrating the ongoing success of the franchise by offering a special 20% discount for Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, now live on Steam until May 15.
