March 30, 2021 -- Today, Games Done Quick announced the dates for its annual Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) speedrunning event. In order to ensure the continued safety of the participants, this year's SGDQ marathon will be held entirely online from July 4-11.
The weeklong event will be broadcast live on GDQ's official Twitch channel (http://twitch.tv/gamesdonequick) and will raise money for charity. Additional details on the event, including the charity beneficiary, games list, and schedule will be announced at a later date.
Speedrunner submissions for SGDQ 2021 Online will open on the Games Done Quick website on March 31, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. EDT and close April 11.
Since 2010, Games Done Quick has raised more than $31 million for charities around the world, including Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières, Prevent Cancer Foundation, Direct Relief, AbleGamers, Malala Fund, and Organization for Autism Research.
