Simulation meets story in cozy voice-acted Wylde Flowers - now on Nintendo Switch & Steam

Today Studio Drydock has released their relaxing story game Wylde Flowers on Nintendo Switch and Steam.

The new platforms add more ways for players to enjoy Wylde Flowers, following an initial launch on Apple Arcade earlier this year. With strong support from farming sim players looking for lush attention to detail and inclusive storylines, Wylde Flowers has been described by media as a ‘remarkably fresh new experience in the genre’. The team was also awarded the 2022 Inclusivity Apple Design Award and is nominated in four award categories in the upcoming 2022 Australian Game Developer Awards (Game of the Year, Narrative, Accessibility and Mobile).

Creative Director Amanda Schofield commented:

“We’re so excited to bring Wylde Flowers to brand new audiences on new platforms, building our passionate and enthusiastic player community. Our whole team has poured love and care into all the little details that make our game special and we can’t wait to hear about everyone’s Fairhaven adventures!”

The magical ingredients that make up Wylde Flowers are:

  • Farming: Farm by day, and build your cottagecore life
  • Magic: Cast spells by night and become part of the coven
  • Heartfelt Story: Savour an earnest and emotional narrative about magic and personal discovery as Tara finds herself, and brings a town together.
  • Friendship & romance: Experience a life filled with fully voice-acted characters and a cast of 29 characters you will come to know and love.
  • 3D World: Explore a vibrant 3D world, with fae creatures, enchanted forests and plenty of cozy scenery.
  • Romance: Flirt and connect as you decide how to love, with seven romanceable characters.

One of our key goals was to make the narrative about real people from lots of different walks of life. To bring this element to life we pulled together an amazing group of voice actors as diverse as our digital characters.

Valerie Lohman, voice of Tara Wylde, on working with Wylde Flowers:

“I’ve never worked on a project so thorough in its representation of diversity,” Lohman says. “I do believe that (games) have the power to change someone’s mind, because gaming makes you live in someone else’s shoes. That’s powerful.”

Wylde Flowers can now be purchased on the Nintendo eShop and Steam. For more Wylde Flowers news, players can join the mailing list and find the community on Discord, TikTok and Twitter.  Apple Arcade subscribers can play Wylde Flowers here.
