Prepare For A Huge Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure Early Access Update!

Explore even more of the fun with new creature, farming and DIY updates

Oslo, Norway - October 20, 2022 - Independent developer Snowcastle Games is excited to announce that its pirate thwarting, animal befriending, crafting game, Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure, is getting a huge update for Steam Early Access bringing creature care, improved farming and more.

Set in the universe of the Earthlock RPGs, Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure takes the rich world-building and magical setting of the franchise into new territory. As you explore a diverse and intriguing landscape with secrets waiting to be uncovered, you will discover ancient ruins from a bygone civilization and unlock a host of different biomes, ranging from icy mountains and parched deserts to dense jungles and humid swamps.

Befriending local wildlife gets even more exciting with the ‘Huge Creature Pass’. This will give players the ability to interact and keep track of their creature’s needs, such as bathing to maintain happiness and cleanliness. With this update, you’ll be able to command longhorn charges and befriend all types of creatures. You will also be able to summon your entire squad of creatures to follow you, using their unique abilities to help you explore new areas of the island.

Alongside the game’s satisfying crafting systems, farming, combat and everything else Ikonei Island has to offer, players will have the opportunity to make the island their own. The latest update adds improvements to farming and crafting with new tools such as shovels and fishing rods. Players can now angle tiling which allows for more intricately designed farms, making farming feel more intuitive and fluid. This brings a new way to manipulate the orientation of the ground to make gardens and farmland even bigger and more beautiful. New seed pods will allow players to craft their own seeds and the fruits of their labour will be rewarded as pollinating fruit will now pop up straight after the initial growth stage.

Make your house a home with new interior and exterior upgrades. Your hamlet serves as a base of operations with new ‘outdoor’ themed placeables allowing you to customise the island to your own taste. Build a treehouse, raise a tent, or even chisel a cave! Quality of life updates will also be coming to Ikonei Island with a more balanced player economy, the ability to easily drop items from the inventory menu, adding stacks to Construction Alters, and improved gardening abilities to make it easier to tile, target, and otherwise tend to your garden.

Players can take advantage of the latest audio updates with a new ‘Audio Silence system’ on the Menu, so players can choose if the music will play constantly or with breaks during exploration. This also brings new exploration music for areas where the Shrines have not been activated and a new ‘Misophonic Slider’ that allows players to tone down snores, eating and other sounds.

“Having watched people play and collected feedback, we are super excited to show you all of the new improvements that we’ve been working on,” said Bendik Stang, Game Director & Co-founder of Snowcastle Games. “We hope you continue to have fun exploring and discovering all that Ikonei Island has to offer and welcome all thoughts and feedback from our community on our Discord and social media channels!”
